Born in Portugal, started his studies at the National Music Conservatory of Lisbon, followed by studies with Maestro George Kok in Pretoria and later with Emma Renzi in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was able to debut main roles such as Belmonte, Alfred in “Traviata” and Conte Almaviva in “Barbiere di Siviglia”. Mr. Ribeiro was a winner of several voice competitions like Operalia in Madrid, Bidu Sayao in Brasil, Enrico Caruso in Milano, Luisa Todi in Portugal, Marmande in France, Ester Mazzoleni in Palermo and Vinas in Barcelona.

He made his professional debut as Don Ottavio at the Michigan Opera House, Detroit, then he was heard also at Teatro Regio in Turin and sang his first Nemorino at Teatro Rendano di Cosenza, Teatro Cilea di Reggio Calabria and Teatro Comunale di Catanzaro. Further contracts were for Arlecchino in “Pagliacci” conducted by Mo. Bruno Bartoletti at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Ismaele at the Festival St. Margarethen, Narraboth in “Salomé” at Teatro Regio Turin, his first Alvaro in “Forza del destino” at Belcanto Opera in United Kingdom and Almaviva in “Barbiere di Siviglia” in Florence. He keeps a busy concert activity singing Mozart’s “Coronation Mass” in Bari, “Stabat Mater”(Rossini) in Rome, “Vespri Solenni” (Mozart) in Reggio Calabria, a recital at Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon.
He sang “Il Corsaro” at the Verdi Festival of Parma (available on DVD), “Lucrezia Borgia” at Staatsoper Munich , “Don Carlos” and “Tosca” at Belcanto Opera in United Kingdom, Ismaele at “Mai Festspiele” in Wiesbaden and at Verdi Festival in Parma, a gala concert in Toronto, “Capuleti e i Montecchi” in Dublin, with “Roberto Devereux” in
Minnesota.

“Manon“ in Montreal, “Attila” in St. Gallen, “Carmen” in Dallas, “Adriana Lecouvreur” in ABAO, Bilbao and in Nice, Ismaele at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Pinkerton and Don José in Würzburg, aria concerts in Venlo, Netherland and Pinkerton in Sassari.

2016/17/18 he is singing the new production “Adriana Lecouvreur” in Halle, Pinkerton in Dublin (for radio broadcast), “Il Corsaro” in Parma, “Butterfly” in Den Haag and Amsterdam, Turiddu at Festival Klosterneuburg/ Vienna, “Adriana Lecouvreur” with Mo.Oren at Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, and “Verdi Requiem” at LʼAuditori in Barcelona
